Laboratory workshop - strength of materials - study of elastic characteristics experimental determination

Report requirements:

1 - Main purpose of laboratory work - to study methods of experimental determination of Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio;

2 - to draw tension scheme (slide No 4); illustration of Poisson's effect (slide No 5); Poisson's ratio determination scheme (left part of slide No 6);

3 - to draw diagrams of tension (F=f(delta_l); force in N, elongation in micrometers) for elastic modulus determination and Poisson's ratio determination;

4 - to calculate elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio; to calculate shear modulus G using formula at slide No 3;

5 - to describe all calculated elastic characteristics (to give definitons);

Summary:

1 - according to the purpose of laboratory workshop;

2 - according to results: to write average values for elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio and shear modulus; to guess what metal was investigated at this laboratory workshop? why we need to have two deformation sensors on two sides of tested specimen simultaniously?
